Allison S. DeKosky, MD

Dr. Allison DeKosky is an Assistant Professor in the UPMC Division of General Internal Medicine’s (DGIM) Section of Hospital Medicine in Pittsburgh and serves as the Chair of the Health and Public Policy Committee for PA ACP since 2021. She directs Hospital Medicine Faculty Development for DGIM, directs the Hospital Medicine Track for the UPMC General Medicine Academic Clinician-Educator Scholars Fellowship, and serves as APD for Quality and Patient Safety for the Internal Medicine residency program.
Dr. DeKosky graduated from Penn State with a degree in Health Policy and Administration, and worked in Washington, DC in the United States Senate and in the private sector prior to attending University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She did her internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago and fellowship in Academic Hospital Medicine at UCSF.
Prior her appointment at faculty member at UPMC, she was an academic hospitalist faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. Her academic efforts are diverse, and span quality improvement, medical education, health policy/advocacy, and the cultivation of leadership skills in medical students, residents, and faculty.
