Together with stakeholders, the GME-SNC trains more than 200 primary care residents and fellows, as well as interprofessional health care students in community-immersed clinical learning environments to advance the shared mission to improve the health and welfare of our communities through inclusive and responsive health services and the sustainable renewal of an inspired, competent workforce that is privileged to serve.
A graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, India, Dr. Sheth earned his master’s degree in public health from Northern Illinois University. He joined the enterprise as physician faculty after completing The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s Internal Medicine Residency.
Dr. Sheth demonstrated his public health skills during the COVID-19 pandemic when he orchestrated The Wright Center’s response. He oversaw, among other initiatives, the creation of a COVID-19 Education and Outreach Command Center, working in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to ensure assisted living and personal care facilities maintained adequate supplies and staffing. Dr. Sheth also coordinated projects, including the acquisition and deployment of a mobile medical and dental unit, known as Driving Better Health, and the rapid rollout of COVID-19 antibody infusion therapy services that successfully delivered care to underserved populations and those at high risk from the virus.
Most recently, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) presented him with the 2024 Innovative Research in Primary Care Award. The award recognizes a health center clinician who has been active in primary care research or evaluation in community practice, prevention, public health, care coordination, or the clinical practice of medical services, according to NACHC.
The multi-media news organization, City & State Pennsylvania, also recognized Dr. Sheth by naming him a 2024 Trailblazer in Building and Infrastructure for his visionary leadership, strategic planning, research, and meticulous attention to detail in transforming buildings across the region into The Wright Center’s welcoming and comprehensive community health centers.
